In the year 2039, the world is a better place, thanks to one man. Fresh from college, Malc

olm Wilder engineered a cheap fix to fossil fuel dependence. The new energy-for-all economy brought on world peace, and as Earth and its people began to heal, creatures once thought to be the stuff of myth decided it was finally safe to reveal themselves. A decade later, Malcolm is a corporate giant living in exotic Dubai.

He's on the cover of every magazine and his name is on everyone's lips. Malcolm's business partner and lifelong friend, Levi Tanner, is concerned that Malcolm isn't allowing himself to enjoy his fame and fortune. Levi finally takes Malcolm to Mortal Sins, a local hot spot that caters to those looking for something a little different in the way of adult recreation. Little does Malcolm know, but the world still has a few problems of Biblical proportion and all hell is about to break loose.

Authors' Note: Dark, futuristic urban fantasy. Discretion is advised for those sensitive to religious themes

'World building is MacLeod and Valentine's skill, and in Messiah I they offer us yet another cleverly-crafted, intricately-layered universe to tickle our fancy. Skillfully rendered detail, darkly erotic tension and trompe-l'oeil situations are just a few of the delights offered here, as the authors set the stage for the unexpected. This book (and I suspect this entire series) is all about illusion: what we have always believed may not be true, what we can see with our own eyes may not be real, the forbidden may be a lie. It is an urban fantasy, is erotic but is not a romance. You will read it once, then you will read it again to make sure you didn't miss a single detail. And then you will, like I will, wait impatiently for Messiah II.'

Review by BoyLove Addict
'The most amazing aspect of this book is the world building.  Reno and Jaye build a world that is innovative enough to be exciting while being close enough to reality to avoid awkward descriptions and distracting nomenclature. The world comes to life in unbelievably rich detail that can be seen, heard and felt in the reader's mind. From the natural beauty of Dubai to the cold, stark luxury of the corporate offices and finally to the sensual overload of the world's greatest brothel, this book engages the senses and provides a hefty serving of 'escapism'.'

The writing is solid and concise with vivid descriptions and vitality to the prose that keeps the story absorbing and interesting. The actual setting of Mortal Sins was surprising and well done with the richness of the luxury and decadence easily being translated to the page.
