Spencer Patterson writes "news" reports on paranormal phenomena for The Weekly Harbinger, a national tabloid magazine. He's had a lifelong love affair with all things supernatural, and having failed at serious news reporting, he eventually merged his hobby with his journalism degree and embarked on a tabloid career.

On assignment in the sleepy Massachusetts town of Fall River, home of the infamous Lizzie Borden axe murders, Spencer meets and falls for sexy Virgil Slade, lifelong resident and owner of a nearby bed-and-breakfast. Things are not as they seem. Virgil, with his hot body, sexy dreadlocks and unusual tattoos, harbors a tremendous secret that turns Spencer's world upside down.

"Damn Gorgeous is a damn good story. Besides the incredibly hot and sexy Virgil, Damn Gorgeous has a very creative, entertaining, and well written storyline with many interesting characters. Virgil and Spencer appear to be average guys getting to know each other except that Virgil is anything but average. Virgil’s secret is very cool. It makes Damn Gorgeous unique in a sea of paranormal stories. I wasn’t expecting it, which is usually what happens when I read a Jaye Valentine book and why I love reading them."

"As usual the plot is great and the writing is excellent.  The author's trademark descriptions, vivid and three dimensional are always a pleasure to read.  The humor is carefully woven in, appropriate for the characters and oh-so-on-point."

"As a female reviewer I worried that I would not be able to project myself into an all male love story. The author quickly proved me wrong. Jaye Valentine drew me into this fun and bizarre world with ease."

"The surprise turn of events in this story make for some very fun reading. I enjoyed that the paranormal people were not the 'usual suspects', but rather were different and interesting."

"Damn Gorgeous is a short story, and it's just the perfect length. It's first person, which doesn't often work for erotica, but then this book isn't very explicit; the sex isn't the main plot. Ms. [sic] Valentine does a great job of fleshing out the characters in a short time, and the writing is nearly flawless. The back story is very interesting and leaves itself open for a sequel, which I'd look forward to reading!"

"First of all this post about Damn Gorgeous will be as mysterious as the book itself since I can't really tell you who the characters really are, it's the main interest and the most original part of the book to find out by yourself. Enough to say that I read a lot, and all you know how much, and in the last three years I saw every imaginable paranormal being, but Damn Gorgeous introduced me to a new and unexpected one."
